RISK BASED INSPECTION (RBI) BASED ON API 580/581

RBI is a decision-making methodology for optimizing inspection plans in industrial facilities and replacing time-based inspection as a methodology for pressure-containing systems. There are recognized benefits for safety, reliability, and efficiency. RBI can be used to reduce the frequency of inspections whilst ensuring the risk does not increase; alternately, inspections can be made more frequently should risk be deemed to be higher. During this course, we will cover how the recommended practice is organized, probability of failure calculation methods for damage mechanisms, consequence of failure, and the risk-based inspection planning process.
